How can I access information on my hard disc after a power outtage?
While I was working on an important essay, the power supply box in my computer burned out. It simply shut off suddenly and died. When I put in a new power supply box, the computer was unable to read my hard disc. When I get the computer started, it begins reading my disc, but then a black DOS screen appears and tells me: "Boot disk needed in drive." What happened? And is it possible to get my information (especially my essay!!) back or is the entire disk lost?? Computer experts, help!!
Your power supply may have shorted out and fried the hard drive. I would take it in to a computer store (not best buy/geek squad). try to find a computer place around where you live other than best buy and ask them to look at it.
